Last night I finished up Jacks reversible super hero cape! Teal on one side, black on the reverse.

This is my morning. It includes complicated zoning calculations & magic markers.

Also, it includes coffee. Lots of coffee.

Super J emblems embroidered, backed with interfacing & all cut out. Tomorrow I’ll sew it all together.

super hero cape

My little man got invited to a super hero birthday that was BYOC – bring your own cape! Of course, I’m not gonna send him with any old cape.

Here’s the beginning steps of “Super Jack”.

Full credit, i’m loosely using these instructions, found via pinterest.

First, I used some sidewalk chalk (very glamorous) to roughly sketch the outline.

 

 

then used the first layer (black) as a template for the second layer (blue)

I’ve yet to come up with a Super Jack Logo design yet, and i would like for this to be reversible.

Busy Bee

Saturday was a busy, crafty day.

First up, sewing class where i finished a shirt!  pics of me wearing it coming soon.  It was pretty intense to sew a full shirt with neat seams and edge stitching.  it ended up being a tent on me (at least a size too big) so there was some stressful last minute resewing and resizing, ripping out a zipper and doing it all again.  Next time i’ll size down.  my measurements must have been off somehow.

Sewing class followed by drunken painting.  A good time was had by all.  Please enjoy this photo of me in a smock followed by a pic of the table (well into the wine portion of the evening).
